The notification arrived quietly on a screen – 9.5 on Booking.com. No grand fanfare, just a simple score built from the honest words of people who have actually stayed with us, shared a meal at our table, and woken up under our pines.
To be honest, we’ve been sitting with this number for some time, not quite sure how to put our gratitude into words.
Where it all started
Rừng Thông Mơ was born in 2020 – quietly, as most things worth keeping usually are. We started with a small bistro tucked into the Tuyen Lam Lake forest. There were no grand ambitions back then. We just had a deep love for this land and a stubborn belief that we could create something meaningful and sustainable here.
By 2022, we grew a little deeper into the forest with Mơ Stay. We built our villas to sit gently among the trees rather than impose on them – the same philosophy, just a different way to experience the woods.
We’re still “finding our leaves,” as we like to say. Every day is a lesson in what it means to build something that lasts in a place as beautiful as Dalat.
What a 9.5 is really made of
The truth is, we didn’t build this score. You did.
It was built by every guest who made the drive into the highlands and trusted us with their time. It’s in the laughter of children running through Mơ Park without a screen in sight. It’s in the quiet moments of couples who sat in our bistro and felt, if only for an evening, that the world was exactly the right size.
We genuinely lose sleep over the details – wondering if a villa felt like home, or if a dish truly landed. Knowing that, more than nine times out of ten, we got it right… that’s not just a statistic to us. It’s everything.
A forest worth protecting
Sustainability isn’t a “feature” at Rừng Thông Mơ and Mơ Stay; it’s the reason we exist. Our organic farm, our eco-conscious materials, and the way we build around the trees rather than through them aren’t marketing decisions. They are the only way we know how to do this.
This forest was here long before us, and if we do our job right, it will be here long after we’re gone. That’s the commitment tucked under every pillow and served on every plate.
